Hayley Smith, Legal STAR of the Year- Moorgate, London
Hayley is a remortgage team manager in our London Moorgate office where she deals with property transactions. Hayley received a number of excellent reviews from satisfied clients who praised her communications skills. One particular client was so impressed by her professionalism and helpfulness, they said how reassured they felt when they received her regular updates. They also said that if they were to use that particular lender again, they would want Hayley to deal with it for them.
Hayley says: “I was elated when I found out I’d won. I felt a real sense of achievement. It’s made me feel even more motivated to continue to deliver the same service and strive for more.
“My job involves carrying out remortgage work on behalf of high street banks. The part I enjoy most is being able to pass on my knowledge to other members of the team and helping wherever I can. Sometimes things can get a bit challenging, for example the system can be problematic from time to time, but to overcome this I harass Spiceworks!
“What I like most about working at Taylor Rose TTKW is that it’s a forward thinking firm that’s always striving for continuous improvement. Working for the company has enabled me to gain more confidence and knowledge for both aspects of my life.
“I think the key to success at work is never giving up, regardless of the circumstances. One thing I’d say is: ‘listen to your clients’. Try your best to manage their expectations and always be personable.”
Hayley was born in Camberwell and shares life outside work with husband Lee. She’d love to own a dog - particularly a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - however she needs to convince Lee that this is a good idea - and that he will love the dog too!
“When I’m not at work I love playing racquet sports especially badminton, tennis and squash. I also enjoy aerobics and Zumba classes, and catching up with my friends. A guilty pleasure of mine has to be hot chocolate with whipped cream, topped with a flake, or crushed Maltesers over chocolate chip ice cream! Calorific - I know!
“When I’m relaxing I like listening to all different genres of music. Right now I’m listening to Paloma Faith on my ipod. I like comedies and romantic movies. At the moment I’m watching Cleaning up starring Sheridan Smith and the SAS programme - and I’m reading The Breakdown by B A Paris.
“My top destination has to be Dubai. The people are genuinely nice and it’s clean. I love the climate and the flight time is not too bad from England. However this year we’re thinking about staying closer to home to explore more of the UK. Perhaps Cornwall.
“The one thing no-one knows about me is that I have a brother who is old enough to be my dad - as there are 20 years between us. And - when I was five years old - I swallowed a diamond and ruby ring. It was never to be seen again, and my parents were less than impressed!”
