Why as a Parent should I get a Will?
Tristy Powell, the Head of Private Client Services in our Peterborough office who has over 18 years’ experience in the department speaks about Will Aid month and why booking an appointment is essential for Parents.
November is Will Aid’s annual UK-wide fundraising campaign, involving nine of the UK’s leading charities: ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (N. Ireland).
Will Aid month takes place from the 1st to the 30th of November. Will Aid has been running since 1988 and has run every November since 2008.
Tristy Powell said: “It’s very easy to bury your head in the sand to avoid thinking about difficult subjects – and death has always been a hard concept to confront.
“Writing a Will is the only way to make sure you have that last word, – as a parent you have a duty to protect your kids even after you're gone. Preparing a correctly worded Will with a solicitor is the best way to ensure your wishes are carried out."
Solicitors from across the Country including those from Taylor Rose TTKW are taking part in Will Aid to provide a free professional Will writing service where you are invited to make a voluntary donation to Will Aid instead of paying the usual fee for this service.
Will Aids’ suggested voluntary donation for a basic Will is £100 for a single Will and £180 for a pair of mirror Wills.
