Corporate Q2 2020 Star Award Winner - Dawn Goodwin

Fri 14 August 2020 Corporate Q2 2020 Star Award Winner - Dawn Goodwin

Congratulations to Dawn Goodwin who has won our Corporate Star in Q2 of the 2020 Star Awards Programme.

Dawn is a Post Completion Executive within our residential conveyancing department and is based in our Peterborough branch. She deals with the final stages of the conveyancing process which entails submitting applications to the Land Registry so that our client’s new homes are registered. She also ensures that the Lenders priority is protected in each application and builds trusted relationships with clients as well as third party organisations.

Having been with the firm since late February this year, Dawn described feeling “shocked, overwhelmed but extremely pleased” when it had been announced that she had won the corporate star award; she added “I never expected it after such a short time with Taylor Rose.”

When asked about how the firm has assisted in her development, Dawn answered “It has driven me to move further forward in my career.” She attributes being able to overcome challenges within her role to her colleagues, in particular her team within the department saying that “I work with such a great team; we have a tendency to support each other in matters we find challenging.”

Fully endorsing the Taylor Rose vision of Smart Modern Law, Dawn explains that she enjoys all aspects of both her role and the firm, stating that Taylor Rose TTKW “is a forward-thinking firm with the clients and employees at the heart of the business”.

Having won the Corporate Star Award in such a short period of time since staring her journey here, we asked Dawn what she would say her key to success was, to which she replied “remaining focused and being a team player.” A top tip she would like to share with her colleagues is to always remember that “teamwork and communication is imperative” in life and in work.

About Dawn outside of work

Dawn was born in Sunderland and says that her niece Rosie and nephew Alfie are the most important people in her life outside of work. She enjoys socialising with friends, being with her family, cycling, reading, and cooking in her spare time.

When asked what one thing is that no one knows about her, Dawn let us know that she has “completed various RYA (Royal Yachting Association) courses and used to own a 26-foot boat”.

Whilst she has no holidays planned for the foreseeable future, Dawn says that her favourite travel destination is Salou, a resort town located in Costa Daurada in Spain.  She names ‘Florence and the Machine’ as her favourite music artist, ‘Green Mile’ as her favourite film and ‘The Chimp Paradox’ by Steve Peters as her favourite book. Dawn says she is currently watching thrilling crime drama ‘The Fall’ on Netflix.

Dawn had been nominated by colleagues for her invaluable support within her role for her helpful communications both with colleagues and clients. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Dawn on her win and thank her for her continued hard work since joining the firm.
