Clare qualified as a Solicitor in 2013, and has worked in our Actions Against the Police/Civil Liberties team ever since. She has a thriving and complex caseload consisting of civil claims, complaints, misconduct proceedings, public law/judicial review actions and inquests.
She is frequently instructed in lengthy and complex inquest matters, and long-running challenges against state authorities such as the police, mental health services, prisons and immigration detention authorities. She also represents clients in bringing civil claims arising from deaths which occur in custody or equivalent circumstances.
Clare regularly represents vulnerable clients and grieving families, who seek justice after traumatic and tragic events as a result of state wrongdoing. She fearlessly seeks to secure accountability from state officials on behalf of her clients.
Clare also regularly acts for victims of sexual assault and abuse in pursuing the Victims Right to Review process, bringing judicial review challenges, making complaints, and bringing civil claims for compensation. She is on the Centre for Women’s Justice panel of solicitors.
Clare has a degree in LAW LLB from the University of Manchester and her Legal Practice Course from the College of Law (Bloomsbury).
Clare is a member of the Police Action Lawyers Group and Inquest Lawyers Group. She is also a panel solicitor for the Centre for Women’s Justice.
She was also the Civil and Commercial Litigation Fee Earner of the Year 2019.
