Consultant Solicitor - Criminal Law

Aftab qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and has spent over 28 years practising exclusively in criminal law. He was a founding partner of a successful criminal defence practice before joining Taylor Rose as a Consultant Solicitor.

He specialises in privately funded criminal defence and motoring law, representing clients throughout England and Wales. His practice covers serious and complex criminal allegations, including assault, drugs, fraud and harassment, as well as the full range of road traffic matters, including drink and drug driving, dangerous and careless driving, speeding, totting up and cases involving potential disqualification.

Aftab has particular experience in representing clients during the investigation and pre-charge stages of a case. He regularly attends police stations and voluntary interviews and, where appropriate, makes detailed pre-charge representations to the police and Crown Prosecution Service with a view to resolving cases at the earliest opportunity.

He conducts his own advocacy and remains personally involved in cases from the initial instruction through to their conclusion. Where specialist evidence is required, Aftab works closely with experienced experts in areas including toxicology, forensic analysis, collision investigation and medicine, as well as specialist counsel in serious Crown Court proceedings.

Aftab’s practice has developed largely through recommendations, repeat instructions and professional referrals. He prides himself on providing straightforward advice, thorough preparation and direct, personal contact throughout a case.

Aftab has a nationwide practice and regularly represents clients at police stations and courts throughout England and Wales.
