Public Order Offences

Home Criminal defence Public Order Offences

Getting good, experienced legal advice as early as possible is a must.

Specialist lawyers for Public Order Offences

We have over 20 criminal lawyers with experience in this area of law, the lawyers being based in many areas of England & Wales and with over 10 office locations in London alone.

We advise clients who have been arrested or charged with :-

  • breach of the peace

  • being drunk and disorderly

  • affray

  • inciting racial hatred

  • using threatening or intimidating words or behaviour

  • being involved in a riot, affray or violent disorder;

  • alcohol offences;

  • firework offences; or

  • stadium offences.

Defences to these alleged offences will often centre around witness evidence, issues as to whether the prosecution can prove the necessary intent or where the defence is based on provocation or self defence.

Some of the more serious Public Disorder offences can result in being sent to prison for up to 5 years. If you are convicted of a football-related offence, the Courts can impose a banning order which can last up to 10 years

We offer a variety of funding options which does include legal aid. This is however dependent on your financial situation and the seriousness of the offence. You may instead wish to privately fund your defence. We offer fixed fees where possible to give you certainty of our costs from the outset

Offences at Sports Stadiums

The laws regulating spectator behaviour at and around football stadiums on match days are numerous and strict. Arrests can be made for things such as chanting, displaying banners others might find offensive, throwing objects, taking flares or fireworks to a match or being drunk at the ground.

If you or a loved one has been arrested for a football-related or public order offence, please contact our specialist Criminal Defence Solicitors.

We have 36 current lawyers who are Law Society accredited as criminal law specialists.
