Emily Hewlett is a Partner in the Commercial Litigation team at Taylor Rose, specialising in complex disputes, group litigation and complex claims. Having qualified in 2019, Emily has built her career advising clients on large-scale and often highly sensitive matters, with experience acting for individuals, businesses and institutions alike. Prior to joining Taylor Rose, she worked at Pogust Goodhead, an international claimant-focused group action law firm, where she developed extensive expertise in complex litigation. Emily is also a member of CORLA.
Emily has experience handling a broad range of commercial litigation matters, with a particular focus on complex and group claims. Her background includes acting on high-value international disputes, including representing more than 600,000 claimants in a £36 billion claim against BHP, as well as acting for 18,000 claimants in an international environmental claim. Through this work, she has developed strong expertise in managing large-scale litigation involving complex legal and factual issues. Emily’s experience across both individual and institutional clients allows her to provide commercially aware, practical advice tailored to each matter.
Emily’s approach is centred on understanding the people behind the dispute. She believes in listening first, taking the time to understand each client’s circumstances, priorities and objectives before advising on the best way forward. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, Emily works collaboratively with clients to provide clear, pragmatic guidance that is tailored to their individual needs. Clients value her empathetic and approachable manner, alongside her ability to communicate complex issues in a straightforward and reassuring way.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys running and cooking, both of which give her the opportunity to unwind and spend time with family and friends.
Emily has over 6 years of qualified experience.
