Mon 16 March 2020 Taylor Rose TTKW raises £77,303.56 for The Sick Childrens Trust

Taylor Rose TTKW are proud to have raised £77,303.56 for Charity Partner; The Sick Children’s Trust

Each year Taylor Rose TTKW fundraise for a charity partner that is voted on by staff. The fundraising year begins in March and ends in the following February. Last year it was The Sick Children’s Trust (TSCT) that received the most votes and we’re pleased to confirm that we managed to raise over £77,000 for the charity!

TSCT provides free, high-quality ‘Home from Home’ accommodation, as well as emotional and practical support, to families with seriously ill children who are receiving hospital treatment in the UK.

Throughout the year, our Social and Charity Committee organised monthly dress down days, as well as raffles and bake sales.

Staff also took part in the charity’s annual events, including the Golf Day at The Addington, the Big Chocolate Tea in June, the Christmas Carol Service at St Marylebone Parish Church in London and the Last Hour Appeal, where staff donated an hour of their December pay packet.

In addition, unclaimed client funds also contributed towards the total amount raised. Furthermore, not only were funds raised for TSCT, staff also donated gifts to the children staying at one of the charity’s ‘Homes from Home’ at Acorn House in Cambridge over the Christmas period.  The gifts included Christmas crackers, games, sweets and colouring books and were delivered by Director Antony Jaggard and his daughter Taylor.

Based on £30 being the average cost of a family staying for one night at one of the charity’s ‘Homes from Home’, we’re pleased to confirm that the funds raised will provide 2,577 nights of accommodation for families in need. We understand the average stay is 12 nights, so the funds raised are likely to help over 215 families.

Charlotte Webster, Corporate Partnerships Manager at The Sick Children’s Trust says;

“Thanks to all the employees at Taylor Rose TTKW who have been busy raising as much money as possible to give more families with sick children in hospital a warm and comfortable place to stay. We were absolutely delighted to have been chosen as their charity partner and are incredibly grateful to all those who have taken part in events and challenges, and kindly contributed throughout the past year. Your donations will enable The Sick Children’s Trust to provide over 215 families with vital practical and emotional support, keeping them close to their sick child in hospital and staying together at very difficult times. The donations from Taylor Rose TTKW will have a significant impact on the many families who rely on our support. So, on their behalf, thank you.”

On the 27th February 2020, the firm invited Charlotte Webster, Corporate Partnerships Manager at The Sick Children’s Trust, to our Peterborough branch. There she was presented with a cheque by CEO Adrian Jaggard who was joined by members of the Social and Charity Committee. Since the presentation, additional funds came in from some of the firm’s other offices, which further added to the total amount raised.
