It is an incredibly difficult time right now with the war in Ukraine. A human tragedy is unfolding with more than 2 million people fleeing their homes and escaping the conflict in Ukraine. There has been devastating consequences for ordinary people, including families being separated, homes being destroyed, and lives being lost.

During this incredibly difficult time, Taylor Rose MW have decided to help by donating £55,000 to two different charities.

Taylor Rose MW are donating £50,000 to the Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC)– Ukraine Appeal. This is an organisation of 15 leading aid charities who help to raise funds quickly and efficiently at times of crisis overseas.  Members of this organisation include: Age International, British Red Cross, Care, Actions Against Hunger, Oxfam, Save the Children and many more.

The DEC are currently in Ukraine and neighbouring countries including Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova to help meet the needs of all refugees and displaced people, as they are arriving with only what they can carry.

We are donating a further £5000 to World Central Kitchen (WCK), an organisation obtaining food donations from around the globe. They are setting up temporary kitchens and local kitchens which are still functional to feed families still in Ukraine and those refugees who have fled.

The WCK began serving hot nourishing meals within hours of the initial invasion and are now set up at eight border crossings. They have begun to support local restaurants preparing meals in eight Ukrainian cities but also have teams in Romania, Poland, Moldova and Hungary.

Our Social & Charity Committee have also set up collection banks in the office where colleagues who wish to are able to donate supplies and other goods including non-perishable food items, toiletries, first aid supplies and infant supplies such as nappies, wipes, and formula which are all urgently required. These donations will be handed to Ukraine Lifeline in Peterborough. Ukraine Lifeline are working in partnership with Buffaload and Cambridgeshire Search and Rescue. They have set up numerous drop off points throughout Cambridgeshire for donations.
