Salesforce Release Manager

The Role:

  • Define and maintain the release strategy/calendar for Salesforce changes (major releases, minor enhancements, hotfixes) across multiple scrum teams and implementation vendors.
  • Coordinate with developers, admins, business analysts, QA’s, and stakeholders to align release activities with business priorities. Act as the central point of contact for release-related updates.
  • Oversee Salesforce org strategy (sandboxes, scratch orgs, partial/full copies) to support development, testing and deployments between sandboxes, across multiple external vendors.
  • Use tools such as Change Sets and Gearset, to automate and control deployments.
  • Validate dependencies and advocate for quality best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that every release has undergone adequate testing (unit, integration, UAT, regression) before deployment.
  • Collaborate with the wider Project and Change Pillar in the Salesforce COE and the Training team to Provide release notes, documentation, and change impact analysis to business users
  • Work with QA ‘s, business analysts, and developers to establish the overall testing framework for Salesforce changes across hybrid scrum teams and external partners 

The Person:

  • Relevant Salesforce Certifications
  • Experience in a Release Manager Role in a Salesforce Environment
  • Experience in building/owning strategy for Release Management, Environment Management and Testing Strategy.
  • Experience operating within Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience in a multiple company/cloud/vendor/scrum team environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across multiple teams and at all levels including C suite
  • Familiarity with project management tools including JIRA/Confluence and Miro
  • Ability to define and deliver best practice changes enterprise wide
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
