National Conveyancing Month is a time to recognise the essential role residential conveyancers and property solicitors play in the home buying and selling process.
Buying or selling a home is often one of the most significant financial and personal decisions a person will make. Yet the process can often feel complex and overwhelming to a lot of individuals.
This month, we’re celebrating the legal professionals who guide our clients through every stage of their property transaction with clear, concise advice.
National Conveyancing Month aims to highlight the importance of education, collaboration and transparency within the property sector. As Rob Hailstone, Founder of National Conveyancing Month explains “Home buying and selling are one of the most important events that take place in the lives of nearly everyone at some point in time. However, it can be time-consuming and difficult to understand for many. National Conveyancing Month aims to help de-mystify the many strands that make up the process for the general public and the numerous stakeholders involved.”
At Taylor Rose, we understand that being proactive, and providing our clients with clear communication and transparency makes for a less stressful and more successful residential conveyancing transaction.
Whether you are
Buying your first home
Selling a property
Remortgaging
Transferring equity
Purchasing a buy-to-let investment
Extending your lease
Having an experienced conveyancer or property solicitor ensures your transaction progresses as smoothly and efficiently as possible. From reviewing contracts, to liaising with mortgage lenders, and managing exchange and completion, conveyancers handle the legal details so clients can focus on their move.
This National Conveyancing Month we asked our conveyancing team “Why did you choose conveyancing as a career?”.
Across our conveyancing team, there’s a shared sense of purpose in helping clients through one of life’s biggest milestones.
As Bonita Nijran, Partner and Managing Conveyancer, explains: “It allows me to play a part in one of the most significant moments in a person’s life. Property transactions can be complex and sometimes stressful, and I enjoy helping clients navigate the process with clear advice and practical solutions. Seeing a matter progress from instruction to completion and knowing you’ve helped someone move forward is incredibly rewarding.”
That sense of reward is echoed by Martina Acciaro, Solicitor: “The longer I work in property the more I like it. No two transactions are the same, and there is nothing more rewarding than a call to my clients to let them know that we have completed and they can collect the keys to their dream house. Supporting and helping people make an informed decision with their investment is what we do this for.”
For many, it’s the pace and variety of the work that makes conveyancing so engaging. Viktoria Kovas, Consultant Conveyancer, explains: “It’s wonderfully fast paced, varied and very goal orientated. It involves a lot of problem solving and juggling many things at once, which suits my personality well. It’s really satisfying to help people navigate an often anxious and confusing time.”
Teaghan Jenkins, Consultant Chartered Legal Executive, adds: “At Taylor Rose, being part of a team that supports people through such an important life milestone makes the work especially rewarding. Helping clients move forward with confidence in their property journey is something I find genuinely satisfying.”
This impact is felt at every stage of a legal career. Nash Amanuel, Trainee Solicitor, shares: “I enjoy working in a fast-moving area of law where you can see the direct impact of your work. As someone working towards qualification, I’ve found conveyancing particularly rewarding because you help clients reach such an important milestone when buying or selling their home.”
From those starting out to those supporting transactions day-to-day, the same themes emerge. Umarah Rehman, Conveyancing Assistant, comments: “Conveyancing is a fast-paced field - I like being kept busy and there is always something new to learn.”
Yashley Bissonauth, Conveyancing Assistant, adds: “Nothing beats the feeling of when the clients’ thanks you for all the hard work when their transaction completes. Other solicitors often described working in conveyancing as being the unsung hero of the buying process and I do get that same feeling at time.”
And for some, it’s the blend of skills that makes the role particularly appealing. Maggie Dale, Paralegal, notes: “Conveyancing appealed to me because it brings together my interest in finance with fast-paced, detail-driven work.”
This reflects what makes conveyancing such a vital and rewarding area of law, and that our conveyancers really value their expertise, attention to detail and delivering excellent client care.
