We are passionate about supporting future solicitors at every stage. As part of this commitment, we are proud to introduce our newest group of SQE Trainee Solicitors, who are now taking the next step toward qualification through the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) route.
The SQE is the new centralised route to becoming a solicitor in England and Wales, overseen by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). It replaces the traditional LPC route and offers a more flexible and accessible path into the legal profession.
The SQE is divided into two stages:
• SQE1 assess functioning legal knowledge through multiple-choice exams covering core areas of law.
• SQE2 evaluates practical legal skills, including advocacy, client interviewing, legal writing and drafting.
Candidates must also complete two years of qualifying work experience and meet the SRA’s character and suitability requirements to qualify as a solicitor.
We are delighted to introduce the following individuals who are now beginning their SQE studies with Taylor Rose, including:
• Lily Apsley, Solicitor Apprentice
• Camara Bourne, Solicitor Apprentice
• Samuel Bignell, Solicitor Apprentice
• Nash Amanuel, SQE2 Trainee Solicitor
• Georgina Hacker, SQE2 Trainee Solicitor
• Jordanna Park, SQE2 Trainee Solicitor
All but one of our new trainees have progressed internally, demonstrating the ambition, talent and dedication we value as well as achievability of progressing on a career path towards qualification internally at Taylor Rose. Each trainee will gain experience in two different departments which will provide them with a broad range of legal skills and knowledge. These departments include Residential Property, Commercial Property and Private Client.
Adrian Jaggard, CEO commented: “Supporting the next generation of solicitors is central to our vision at Taylor Rose, whether they’ve grown within the firm or are joining us on the next step of their legal journey. The SQE route enables us to attract and develop diverse talent from all backgrounds, helping to shape a more inclusive and progressive legal profession. We’re committed to creating opportunities that empower individuals to thrive and grow in their careers.”
“it’s incredibly rewarding to see such a talented and motivated group take their first steps toward qualification through the SQE route. I believe in creating opportunities for individuals to grow and succeed, and the SQE programme allows us to support a wider range of aspiring solicitors in a more flexible and inclusive way. I’m proud to be part of their journey and look forward to seeing what they achieve,” said Louisa Copsey, Training Principal and Head of Corporate Commercial.
We look forward to welcoming our new SQE Apprentices and SQE2 Trainee Solicitors this September, as they take on new roles within the firm whether joining us for the first time or progressing from existing positions.
