Private Client Paralegal

Key Responsibilities:
Assisting with the management of private client matters including wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), probate, estate administration, trusts, and Court of Protection matters.
Matter opening and client onboarding, including ID verification, AML checks, and the preparation of engagement letters.
Drafting standard correspondence, documents, and legal forms under the supervision of a qualified fee earner.
Supporting with probate applications and the progression of estate administration files.
Liaising with third parties including banks, HMRC, the Probate Registry, the Land Registry, and financial institutions.
File management, document retrieval, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date matter records on the firm's case management system.
Undertaking compliance checks and file reviews in line with regulatory requirements.
Providing general administrative support to fee earners within the team, including managing fee earner diaries, ensuring they are kept up to date and reminding fee earners of upcoming meetings and deadlines.
Delivering a high standard of client care and acting as a point of contact for clients on day-to-day queries, escalating complex matters to the supervising solicitor as appropriate.
Supporting trainees and junior staff where applicable, contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
Law degree or equivalent qualification; LPC or CILEX qualification is desirable.
Previous experience in a private client role or legal environment is preferred.
Familiarity with probate, estate administration, wills, and/or LPAs is advantageous.
Proficiency in a case management system; experience with Mattersphere, Salesforce or similar is beneficial.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail with the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload.
Sound understanding of AML and compliance obligations.

Excellent client care skills, with the ability to communicate with empathy and sensitivity, particularly when dealing with elderly or vulnerable clients.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
A collaborative, proactive working style with a willingness to support the wider team.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
A positive, solutions-focused attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent client outcomes.
Commercial awareness and an understanding of the value of efficient matter progression, including the ability to manage and meet chargeable and non-chargeable hours targets under supervision.
