We’re extremely delighted to announce that Taylor Rose MW has achieved recognition in the 2023 Chambers & Partners guide.


The 2023 edition of Chambers & Partners reviews the firm’s Crime and Extradition department.

We have been ranked as:

The Crime department have ranked Band 1 for the second year running with key contacts, Henry Oghoetuoma and Christopher Maynard being named.

Henry Oghoetuoma, Head of Crime & Extradition said: "Our extradition team is growing from strength to strength. We have some new recruitments that will make us even stronger in this niche area of law. As ever we remain determined to ensure our clients receive the highest quality of representation."

Commenting on the Band 1 ranking, Henry said, "It is a justified recognition of the high quality, dedication and tenacity that our team puts into puts into representing clients at their point of need."

Christopher Maynard, Consultant Solicitor said: “This latest ranking demonstrates our commitment to providing high quality Criminal Defence Services across the South of England."

The Extradition team has been “highlighted for their expertise in advising on extradition requests and appeals as well as European Arrest Warrants. The firm has a well-established reputation for its commitment to legal aid work as well as advising privately funded clients. It has substantial experience dealing with vulnerable clients in extradition proceedings, including on human rights grounds, and is able to provide clients with robust in-house advocacy capabilities.”

“It is also fantastic to see four of our lawyers individually ranked with Head of Extradition William Bergstrom described as “an exceptional solicitor with great tactical capabilities” and Deputy Head of Crime and Extradition John Molleskog was described as “willing to exhaust every possibility in order to find the best outcome for his clients, he is exceptionally good.”

Four members of the Extradition department were also listed as Notable practitioners in this year’s Chambers & Partners Guide.  

Russell Nicholson, Solicitor has been ranked in Band 2. He has been praised for being ‘a safe pair of hands who deals with everything calmly and efficiently. You don’t need to worry as you know he will do his job phenomenally well.’ Russell ‘regularly handles complex cases concerning EU jurisdictions as well as those emanating from the USA and other countries.’

William Bergstrom, Partner & Head of Extradition remains in Band 3 for the second year running where he is highlighted for ‘regularly representing clients in proceedings complicated by factors such as possible human rights violations, judicial corruption and political motivation, with experience in cases involving European and African countries, among others.’ He is described as ‘very hard working, client focused and a real pleasure to work with’.

John Molleskog, Partner & Deputy Head of Crime & Extradition has been ranked in Band 4 with experience ‘defending clients faced with extradition requests from a broad range of jurisdictions and in relation to a wide range of criminal charges.’ The guide describes John as ‘willing to exhaust every possibility in order to find the best outcome for his clients. He is exceptionally good.

Laura Hayward, Solicitor for the second-year running has been ranked as an associate to watch. Laura is ‘well regarded for her work on complex extradition cases, including those that concern serious criminal charges such as human trafficking.’ She has been described as being ‘great with clients and always willing to go the extra mile. She is really knowledgeable and thorough, and nothing is too much trouble for her.’
