Taylor Rose Strengthens Medical Negligence Team with Promotions

We are delighted to announce two senior promotions within our Medical Negligence team, effective from 1 October 2026: Jacqui Hayat has been appointed Head of Medical Negligence, with Andrew Bentham appointed Deputy Head.

Our Medical Negligence team acts for patients and families in some of the most complex and life-changing claims. The team handle cases including delayed or missed diagnoses, avoidable birth injuries, surgical errors and fatal claims. They help families secure rehabilitation, long-term care and financial support they need to rebuild they need to rebuild their lives.

Jacqui Hayat – Head of Medical Negligence

Jacqui has been appointed as Head of Medical Negligence, where she’ll lead the strategic direction of the department and support its continued growth, profitability and market profile. In this role, she’ll focus on strengthening our reputation for securing life-changing outcomes for clients, building our referral relationships and help develop the next generation of medical negligence specialists within our team.

Jacqui has practised in Medical Negligence for more than 30 years and previously led medical negligence team at two London law firms. Since joining us as a Partner in 2021, she has been instrumental in supporting our department’s leadership and mentoring solicitors at every level. She’s recognised as a leader in her field, ranking in both Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, and has sat on the Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel for over 25 years.

Andrew Bentham – Deputy Head of Medical Negligence

Andrew has been appointed as Deputy Head of Medical Negligence, where he will work alongside Jacqui to support the department’s continued growth, while still managing his own caseload of complex medical negligence claims.

Andrew qualified as a Medical Negligence Solicitor in 2010 and joined us (then McMillan Williams) in 2013. He was promoted to Partner in 2018, and since then he’s played a key part in growing the department, supervising and mentoring our junior lawyers, and strengthening our reputation for delivering outstanding client outcomes. He’s a member of the AvMA Specialist Clinical Negligence Panel and is recognised in both the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.

Together, Jacqui and Andrew will help drive our department’s strategic growth and build on its reputation as a leading medical negligence practice. They’ll also focus on creating structured progression opportunities for our fee earners and paralegals at every career stage, so our department remains a destination for clients and specialists alike.
