Paul qualified as a solicitor in 1994 and has over 20 years’ experience as a criminal defence lawyer. Paul completed his training in the Magistrates’ Courts where he worked as a legal advisor to the lay magistracy in South Bedfordshire (Luton, Dunstable, and Leighton Buzzard) before moving to Sutton Magistrates’ Court in Surrey.
Paul moved to private practice in 1998, joining Cabral and Co in Wallington, Surrey. While there, he built a strong client following, and became a familiar face at Croydon Youth and Magistrates’ Courts as a defence advocate.
He has acted as a consultant for several reputable South London Firms. In 2018 he joined the firm and has since been a valuable member of the Crime and Extradition team. Paul has over the years represented hundreds of clients to a high standard, both as a litigator and advocate.
Paul has invaluable experience of representing clients at the police station. He continues do so when required.
In the last decade, Paul has spent most of his professional life as a defence advocate in the Crown Courts. His advocacy skills have been honed over many years of conducting trials in the Crown Court. He has successfully conducted trials at the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey) and has appeared before the Court of Appeal.
Paul is a calming influence for those who find themselves embroiled in the challenging and often hostile environment of the criminal courts.
He has extensive experience of acting in matters ranging from motoring, public order, theft, fraud, robbery, firearms, sexual assault, assault, attempted murder, and murder.
