We have been listed as:

“The firm is delighted to have been ranked as a Tier 1 firm for Criminal Litigation in Brighton. The ranking is testament to the hard work and dedicated service provided to clients since the firm expanded to cover this region in 2018,” said Christopher Maynard, Consultant Solicitor.

Our Crime & Extradition department have shone this year in the Chambers & Partners guide. It has been an incredible outcome with the firm going up a band in Extradition. Also, for the first time ever, four of our Crime & Extradition team have been ranked with William Bergstrom going up a band and Laura Hayward being a new entrant.

Head of Extradition, William Bergstrom has been ranked in band 3 as he ‘regularly represents clients in proceedings complicated by factors such as possible human right violations, judicial corruption and political motivation. He handles cases involving countries in Europe, Africa and around the world. He has been described as “one of the most insightful and tactically astute solicitors in the business” and “knows the extradition world inside out.”

Partner, Chirag Patel has also been included in band 3 and the guide mentions how he is ‘skilled at defending clients facing requests for extradition and arrest warrants from countries all over Europe, and also has notable expertise in cases concerning extradition in Nigeria.’ Chambers mentioned how he is “tactically very astute, really on top of issues and very pragmatic” and “ a vastly experienced extradition solicitor who shows excellent client care.”

Both Solicitors, Sarah Phillips and Laura Hayward have been listed as associates to watch.

Laura is a new entrant to the guide. She has been mentioned for having a ‘growing reputation for her work on complex extradition cases, including those that concern serious criminal charges such as people trafficking.’ She has been described as “an experienced extradition solicitor and someone you want on your side” adding that Laura is “very efficient, doing things with incredible speed without losing the detail and she gets great results.”

Sarah ‘assists with complex extradition proceedings, often advising vulnerable individuals including clients with mental health issues.’ She has been described as “outstanding solicitor who shows great insight” and that she is “very thorough and well prepared” and “knows her stuff.”
